INTRODUCTION

Rabanal & Smith LLP, is a CPA firm providing accounting, tax and business advisory services to the wine industry. Our partners have 45 years of accounting, auditing and tax experience, with over 30 years focused in the wine industry. Our experience and dedication to the wine industry is what distinguishes us from the competition. We are actively involved in wine industry trade groups, and live and work in the wine country. Our office is strategically located in beautiful downtown Napa which allows us to serve clients throughout the North Bay and surrounding areas.

Our firm was formed in response to the increased need in the wine industry for compliance services, such as audits, reviews and tax preparation performed by independent, knowledgeable professionals. In addition to these compliance services, we also provide tax consulting services and traditional consulting services such as estate tax planning, financial forecasting and benchmarking.

Jennifer Rabanal

Jennifer Rabanal is a Certified Public Accountant who performs accounting and consulting services for the wine industry. Jennifer worked for over twelve years at Motto Kryla & Fisher LLP where she performed audits, reviews, compilations, financial forecasts and consulting controller services for wine industry clientele. Jennifer graduated cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in business economics with an emphasis in accounting.

Jennifer is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jennifer was also a member of Women for Winesense and served as CFO and treasurer on its National Board.

Amy Smith

Amy Smith is a tax partner with Rabanal & Smith LLP in Napa, California. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning. Amy provides income and estate tax compliance and planning services to Napa, Sonoma, and Solano County wineries, vineyards, and their owners.

Prior to Rabanal & Smith LLP, Amy worked in the tax department of Motto Kryla & Fisher LLP performing tax compliance, tax consulting and business advisory services for wine industry clientele. Prior to joining Motto Kryla & Fisher LLP, she worked in the tax departments of Ganze & Company and Armanino McKenna, LLP performing tax compliance services for businesses, individuals and estates.

Amy earned her Masters of Taxation graduate degree and her Bachelors of Accounting undergraduate degree at Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA. Amy has also earned the professional designation of Certified Specialist in Estate Planning.

Amy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley. She served for six years on the Board of Directors of Napa Valley Support Services and was the Chairman of their Strategic Planning Committee. Amy is currently serving on the Board of Directors of The Land Trust of Napa County and is their Treasurer and Chairman of their Finance and Investment Committee.

Kristen Guiducci

Kristen Guiducci is a Certified Public Accountant who performs assurance and business advisory services for the wine industry. Her experience prior to returning to public accounting has been with Robert Mondavi Winery and Icon Estates. There she spent six years in the Financial Reporting Group assisting with SEC reporting, various internal reporting and acquisition accounting. Prior to joining Robert Mondavi Winery and Icon Estates, Kristen worked for four years in the assurance practice of KPMG LLP in San Francisco.

Kristen graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Moraga with a degree in accounting and a minor in business administration. Kristen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is currently serving as an Audit Committee member of Napa Valley Support Services.

Adolfo Medved

Adolfo Medved is a Certified Public Accountant who performs tax and business advisory services for the wine industry. He is a former CPA with Friedlander, Cherwon, Capper L.L.P. in San Rafael, CA, where he spent three years performing tax compliance, tax consulting, assurance, and business advisory services for a wide variety of industry clientele. Prior to joining Friedlander, Cherwon, Capper L.L.P., Adolfo worked for five years with Smith & Co., CPAs in San Rafael. Adolfo earned his Masters of Taxation graduate degree and Certificate in Estate Planning at Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA. He earned his Public Accountancy degree at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Adolfo is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Gordon Rickman

Gordon Rickman is a Certified Public Accountant who performs assurance and business advisory services for the wine industry. His most recent experience has been with V. Sattui Winery and Castello di Amorosa. There he spent eight years as their controller overseeing the daily accounting operations, providing management with financial reports and performing all aspects of year-end accounting.

Gordon graduated magna cum laude from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis with a degree in accounting and a minor in management. Gordon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Jeneen Villanueva

Jeneen Villanueva is an Accountant with over 25 years of experience in the wine industry. Her experience includes being part of the technical support staff for the assurance group at Motto Kryla & Fisher LLP, where she spent over a year assisting with year-end accounting for audits, reviews and compilations, and performing special projects. Prior to her working with Motto Kryla & Fisher LLP, Jeneen spent over 15 years as Administrator and Accounting Manager for Silverado Hill Cellars. Jeneen received her Associates degree in Accounting from Harcourt Learning Direct, Center for Degree Studies in Scranton Pennsylvania.

Wendy Couch

Wendy Couch is a bookkeeper and administrator. She has 20 years of experience in the public accounting industry, in the Napa Valley. Wendy's most recent experience has been with Ganze & Company in Napa as the senior technical assistant.
